I was luckily invited to interview the Survivor Philippines Top 5. Lucky to say because I was one the chosen few who get the chance to meet and interview our Top 5 Castaways of Survivor Philippines. But it turned out that only Stef, Mara, Maey and Betong were present because KC had a prior radio commitment. Needless to say, KC is very active twitting on the other side while the interview is on set.
“It was amazing” as Betong quipped when asked how he feels to be on the top 5 as he considers himself the underdog. They took up the challenge and leave their comfort zone not just to win the coveted title but to challenge themselves and prove their worth.
They stayed in the island of Palawan for 36 days and they’ve been through different task exposing their strength and vulnerability. Stef is an Avenger from StarStruck Season 4, Maey and Betong are known for giving their humourous commentaries on GMA News TV’s Ang Pinaka. Maey is also a comedienne who is part of the satirical program May Tamang Balita, KC got married to Geneva Cruz in the United States in 2004 but they have since separated and lastly the champion surfer Mara who is the daughter of former beauty queen-turned-actress Maria Isabel Lopez.
What was your most memorable experience in Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Doubles Showdown?
Mara finds a surf spot and would love to stay for good in the island while Stef would never come back due to her unforgettable snake bite experience.
Betong and Maey had been friends for years and have a strong bond with each other and that makes them the best allies in the tribe. Maey turns emotional when asked about her best experience in Survivor Philippines. She said not to underestimate someone’s capability because even she can’t believe she would end up to the top 5 as her competitors are big guys with clandestine strategies in mind. She was happy that Arnold Aninion was voted off and considers herself a “Lady Volcano” and burst into laughter.
Who do you think will win Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Doubles Showdown?
All of them except Mara are in unison that KC Montero had the big chance to win since he played it well and the guy has the brain and guts to do it all the way. Mara said that Stef should win for she had been bitten by a snake and that makes her a total Survivor! But the fans had a soft heart to Maey for she exudes the character of a true fighter.
Do you think your unique character would help you win the top prize?
Stef said that they are real person on and off cam. No one can tell as to who will win because there would be some twist to happen and asked to watch the surprising finale.
