Asia’s Pop Sweetheart and GMA prime talent Julie Ann San Jose, holds the distinction of being the second female artist, after Nina, to have had a Diamond-certified recording; her debut album Julie Anne San Jose sold more than 150,000 units in the Philippines. Her hit single “I’ll Be There” holds the highest certification (4X Platinum) for a digital single in OPM history. Her second album “Deeper” is also certified Gold.
San Jose, won the Favorite Mellow Video for her song “Right Where You Belong” in the recently concluded Myx Music Awards 2015 last March 25 at SM Aura Premiere Samsung Hall. Another feather to her cap.
She revealed that there is new soap coming out soon but had no idea yet as to the concept. She added that she is preparing to do an album and subsequently do a follow up concert in Araneta this year.
I’ve asked Julie Anne about her reaction of being compared to Jane Oineza since the two had a close resemblance, she politely replied “We did shoot the 23rd Anniversary of Mega Mag, Jane was actually really really nice to me, and parang nung first time naming magkita, parang nagkasabay lang kami, doon na kami nag start magkausap, she revealed.
Currently, Julie Anne is one of the host of GMA News TV show “Day Off”. “Day Off” is GMA’s reality/lifestyle program that awards people with a day off from their job. Every episode is a great challenge to her.
On her first task as Day Off host, Julie Anne San Jose brave the challenges of being a female coast guard. For her second stint, she became a banana cue vendor for a day, but with a twist: she can only speak in English. To face her fears of heights, she hoisted 20 floors high up in the air. But the most challenging for her is the eel episode. She can’t stand to the challenge and end up penalized to sell their catch.
Julie Anne also talked about her latest Single “Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang” from her “Deeper” album. It is a revival from a band in the late 80’s. “Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang” happens to be the soundtrack of koreanovela “Future’s Choice”.
Julie Anne San Jose was so blessed to have a productive career not to mention the new brand she’ll endorse soon. She’s simple the best so to speak.
