After his numerous attempt in the music industry, Thor Dulay earned on his own right the title “Master of Soul”. His powerful and distinct voice brings to mind international soul and R&B greats like Donnie Hathaway and Stevie Wonders to name a few. Over the years, he has gained nods and respect not just of his followers but his colleagues and co-musicians as well.
Thor pursues his music career after making it to the Top 8 in The Voice of the Philippines Season 1 under the tutelage of coach Apl, where he made history as the first “four-chair turner” with Whitney Houston classic “I have nothing” as an audition piece during the blind auditions. he did his very first birthday/benifit concert in December 2013 fresh from his The Voice stint and a collaboration concert with the single “The Only One” written by Popsie San Pedro.
Then finally a brand new CD! Also named “Master Of Soul” showcases a more Thor’s vocal versatility. “I feel so honored to have some of the best names in my new album. Dream ko talaga silang lahat na makatrabaho sa album. Sina Jungee Marcelo, Jonathan Manalo, kiki Salazar, Soc villanueva and my album producer Rhaizo Chabeldin. Sila yung ilan sa mga musical geniuses that I really look uo to. ” Thor said.
Now on its third and latest single “Bakit Kung Sino Pa”, a Lloyd Umali original hit in the 90’s, “Master Of Soul” is out nationwide produced by Cornerstone Music and distributed by Star Music. An album with heartwarming power ballads with little bit of mid tempo tracks”.
The “Master of Soul” is no stranger in the concert scene as he has done several shows before, like the one with Jovit Baldivino in May 2014. Thor said he prepares the concert by listening to his music every day, he practice often and listens to good music.
This coming July 17, Friday, 8PM marks another milestone for Thor as Aqueous Events stages Thor’s “Soulful Concert 2015” at the Music Museum. The show promises to be not just soulful but truly heartfelt as he will be joined by two of the country’s young and dynamic female artists, the Hitmaker Diva Liezel garcia and Soul Supreme KZ.
